The Life and Times of EverQuest Andy "killmaim" Sunderland

Editorial Excerpt: "October 21st marked in the pages of video game history the 15th expansion pack released for the original EverQuest. I think my first response to hearing about a new expansion unleashed a year after the last one was an appropriate groan, followed by, “They’re still adding content for this game?"

A Step Back in Time Sam "Nyx" Marchello

Editorial Excerpt:"When Chrono Trigger came out in 1995, I was thirteen years old, and it was my first venture into console RPGs. I remember being at my cottage one weekend going through my next door neighbour's pile of Super Nintendo games, and asking him what was about it, to which he replied, "I'll show you."

From the Editor's Desk

Finding myself in a mood for some brutally unforgiving gameplay, I decided to bring my Wii to school so I could continue through Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Suffice it to say I played for an hour last night and had to restart the same map four times, so everything seems to be as it should be. I wonder sometimes why I love this series so much, it might simply be one of those inexplicable things about gaming that can only be explained with a redundant "I don't know. I just do." Whatever. Rather than waxing about the meaning of gaming life, I'll just enjoy my time with Ike and company.

We have two good eds this week. First, fan writer Andy "killmaim" Sunderland reminisces about his times with EverQuest. It's a nice piece; I never played EQ, but I love nostalgia articles, and Andy's makes me wish I had. Give it a read. Sam returns as well with her own memories of Chrono Trigger. I never played the game, but the more pieces like this I read, the more it makes me look forward to its upcoming DS release. Enjoy folks, and as always, write in with those lovely thoughts of yours!
